What is Azad Academy?
Meet Mr Ishfaq Azad
Specialist Maths & Science Tutor | Founder of Azad Academy
I help students achieve clarity, confidence, and outstanding results through personalised, high-impact tuition. My mission is simple: to bring stability, structure, and genuine belief back into every learner’s education.
Why I started Azad Academy?
During my years teaching across Birmingham and Solihull, I saw too many students struggling not because of ability, but because of a lack of consistency and stability in their schools.
Common challenges I witnessed included:
Frequent changes of teacher or long periods with supply staff
Oversaturated classes where individual needs were overlooked
Persistent disruption that derailed learning for motivated students
Teachers forced to rely on textbooks instead of passionate, clear teaching
A culture where students gradually lost confidence in themselves and in education
Whenever I stepped into classrooms like these, I realised something important:
the problem was rarely the student.
With the right relationship, clear explanations, and structured support, progress often happened within the first hour.
I met learners who had lost interest entirely, yet left my lessons inspired.
I taught students who said I gave them the time and belief that no one else had offered. I saw potential everywhere, waiting to be unlocked.
These experiences shaped my teaching philosophy.
The Mission of Azad Academy
Families told me the same story repeatedly: they wanted impactful tuition but struggled to find support that was both high-quality and financially accessible.
I built Azad Academy to solve that problem.
A platform that delivers clarity, nurtures potential, and helps students exceed expectations — no matter their background or starting point.
More About Me
Outside the classroom, I am a strong advocate for positive mental health, personal development, and resilience. I’ve worked with many young people who needed not only academic clarity, but also mentorship, confidence-building, and someone who genuinely believes in them.
For this reason, I continue to support my students even beyond their lessons; offering guidance, mentoring, and a safe space to talk through challenges. For many families, this holistic support becomes just as valuable as the academic progress.
My own journey reflects the mindset I try to instil in learners. Since the age of 16, I have never been unemployed for longer than a week. I have built experience across multiple industries, engineering, fashion (casual, formal and high-end), food, events, and business, each one strengthening my understanding of the real world, discipline, communication, and the mindset required to succeed.
These experiences allow me to bring more than subject knowledge to my teaching. I bring a positive, growth-driven attitude and I aim to empower every student to develop not only academically, but as confident, motivated young people ready for future opportunities.
Every student I work with becomes part of the Azad Academy family. Their success, both in school and in life, is what drives me every day.
My Teaching Philosophy
True progress comes from more than content. It comes from support, clarity, and consistency.
Build Relationships
Students learn best when they feel valued and understood.
Bring Clarity
I model concepts in simple, relatable ways that make learning intuitive.
Track Progress
Regular assessment and feedback help students see their improvement.
Inspire Confidence
When students feel their knowledge growing, everything else grows with it — effort, ambition, and outcomes.
